THE
PROGRAM IN DETAIL:
The Anders Languages school
is located in the heart of Extremadura, an unexplored
region of Spain despite its enormous historic value. The
roots of the towns and cities in this region go back as
early as 25 BC, and the region itself was the center of
Roman and Moorish occupation. When regained from the
Moors, this region became the heart of Spain at the
height of its power and during the conquest of the New
World.
This program combines an
intensive Spanish course with excursions that will help
you discover this part of the country.

Cáceres. The first evidence of humans living in Cáceres
is from the late Paleolithic era, around 25,000 BC.
Cáceres started to gain importance as a strategic city
under Roman occupation, and remains found in the city
suggest that it was a thriving center as early as 25 BC.
This city, declared a World Heritage Site, hides
incalculable value inside its treasured walls, with
small squares, palaces, churches and stately homes which
are genuine works of art and reflect the most
splendorous past of Spain. Its walled center has
numerous constructions, most of which built between the
14th and 18th centuries, and impressive and unique
jewels await the visitor around every corner. Lunch will
be in a local restaurant in Cáceres (included). |

Guadiana, lie the Towers of Trujillo. Trujillo is
crowned by its XthC Moorish Castle, built on Roman
foundations with extensive ramparts and fortifications.
The origins of this important city, with its dominant
historical roots, go back six centuries before Christ.

with its famous monastery being the key point, history
is indeed what this village offers.
